Why would they? Georgia started the whole thing by invading South Ossetta in the first place. The west really needs to grow out of the cold war grudge against Russia and accept that they have done nothing wrong in this one, if anything America should (but obviously wouldn't as it isn't needed) help Russia as they are the ones being invaded, not the other way round.

NO WAY. No. Georgia invaded Ossetia, started killing Ossetian people. Russia had to move forces there bacause UN refused to solve this question. USA can not support mad Georgian president. American people do not want war with Russia.

The USA won't go to Georgia's aid. Russia is USA's biggest influence over Iran, who the USA want to stop producing Nuclear energy. If they were to help Georgia they'd damage relations with Russia and the chances Iran will stop producing the Nuclear energy would fall even lower.

It's all about NATO first to make sure there is no conflict solve it at the most peaceful level is what is always the goal in mind. Unless they just attack us first than its different. But before any war between the US and Russia NATO will be there. Also troops are already in Georgia all military branches too. What they are doing I don't know I didn't ask plus they will only say the hear say.

Why should? Did anybody help Afghanistan or Iraq when they were invaded by US. Both US and RUSSIA are invaders. They are the same thing.
