Question:

Should USA intervene in the Russia/Georgia war?

We can't win in Iraq, we can't win in Afghanistan and I find it the ultimate irony that we should "intervene" in the Russia/Georgia crazy war. Let the Russians and Georgians had their fight and kill each other. They will learn sooner or later. And criticizing Russia for using "too much force"? Did I read well? And what have we done in Iraq? A Sunday's picnic?? Not even Bozo the clown would have given such idiotic criticism of hypocrisy. Feedback, please.

  1. Why?  How?  We have two wars we can't win now.  It is NOT our problem.

  2. Traditionally, powerful countries don't go head to head. They use other lesser countries to fight their proxy war. If you look at any country, they hold some form of hypocrisy. Some more than others it would seem.

The US is in no position to send troops to Georgia but they are very capable of providing equipment and training to Georgia and the Ukraine. I heard Russia used ballistic missiles to attack Georgia. If that's validated, then it would give the US a great reason to install ballistic missile defenses in Georgia. And it would be a slap in the face to the Russians especially after having them installed in Poland.

In other words, it's all politics and moving the chess pieces.

  3. I think we should intervene....with diplomacy only....no wait, Bush never heard of that word...nevermind

  4. The USA gets involve in the war = WWIII

  5. hahaha aren't you a patriot... If you want them to get involved ur getting into a bit more then underfunded rebels living in holes... Your fighting the huge nation of Russia my friend, WW3.

  6. Looks like the war is over.

Georgia withdraws forces from Ossetia, it seems russians are not going after them, Saakashvili hides from cameras (rumors are he has heart stroke).

So there is nothing to intervene to.

  7. DING DING

you deserve the ten points here.  I thought the same exact thing.

  8. If the US intervenes, then the US will be demonized for intervening. If the US does not intervene, then the US will be demonized for not intervening.

"Should USA intervene in the Russia/Georgia war?"  Maybe, but only after the entire world approves such intervention, and outlines exactly how, when, and where to deploy any troops. That way, the entire world can hate themselves for their own action/inaction. Or better yet, some other nation can intervene.

You see, the US is generally blamed for all the woes in the world. I, as an American, would like to see the other nations step up and take some responsibility.

  9. No.....we should stay out of it......completely. It's not our war.

What are we "losing" in Iraq? Saddam is gone & dead. So are his sons. The Saddam military is defeated. What we are in the middle of is a tribal faction civil war between Sunni & Shiite. We can't win a war for two other sides who refuse to stop fighting each other. All we can do is try to mediate a cease fire between the two. Far more Muslim civilians are dying in the cossfire between these two tribal factions that U.S. Soldiers.

What are we losing in Afghanistan? Last I read, we had made  some great progress against them. A lot of ranking Al Quaida leaders are now dead.

Here's an idea: Maybe if all the drug users in the world would stop seeing drugs as a social event, all the drug money going into Afghanistan would stop, and those waging terror against us would have far less money to buy weapons?
