It would make a good fight I think. also Why do the middleweight fighters get more respect in the boxing community they are always labeled as the best pound for pound.

  1. I definitely think they should fight!!!

But aren't assuming too much?   Sam Peter could very well be the one unifying the titles!!!

  2. Wlad should fight ruslan-valuev winner because it is gonna be harder to get a fight with that one becuase they are gonna avoid the fight unless the money is overwhelmingly high.. Peter will be easy as long as he doesn't fight Vitaly. I don't think its middle weight fighter that are getting the attention and respect but more so on the fact that the division has talent( from welter-to super mid)  that are fighting each other instead of using politics to avoid each other

  3. They may wait a while.  " Why Bertman, why should they do that..?"  - I'll tell you why phil. What's the next big fight after that? Say Klitschko wins.  Vitali is making his return later this year, and he's supposed to come into the picture. Who is he gonna fight? It'd have to be someone who has already been beaten. And more importantly, someone who doesn't have a title.

Who is Wladimir going to fight after Peter?  What James Toney? Haye? It supposed to be Povetkin, but everyone know's that fight will end quick. It's better to stretch Povetkin out, and let him make a bigger name for himself- as he is probably just as good as anyone in the division outside of Wlad. So at this point Wlad has no challengers, maybe Chagaev, Valuev?  And now the divison has only 1 boring champion. And if his brother becomes #1 contender, then we have #1 and #2 who won't fight eachother.

I say keep the champions separate until there are enough contenders to create an interesting stir that may last a few years.

  4. Yes, they should fight a rematch/unification because the winner of that fight will be the first TRUE heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis retired.  The problem is that Wladimir's brother, Vitali will be fighting Sam Peter first, and if Vitali wins, then we will be in the same position that we are in now- no true heavyweight champ because the brothers have repeatedly stated that they would never fight each other professionally.  So, hopefully Peter beats Vitali so that Peter can fight Wladimir again and give us a real heavyweight champion.

As for your other question- fighters of lighter weights, such as middleweight get more respect than the heavyweights because they are USUALLY all-around better fighters.  As you already stated, they are labeled as being better "pound for pound."  Think of it this way- if size did not matter in fighting, who would win Floyd Mayweather, Jr. or Wladimir Klitschko?  Floyd would win because he has the overall better skills, but if this fight really happened, Floyd would get knocked out because Klitschko is just too big and strong for him.  The middleweights, as you mention usually get a lot of praise because they have the speed of the lighter weights and the power of the heavier weights.  However, heavyweights do deserve respect, but lately they haven't been getting it because there has been no real champion and the guy who is number one (Klitschko) just bored us to tears with his performance against Sultan Ibragimov.  Nevertheless, he still does deserve credit as being the best heavyweight in the world.

  5. definitely! it's about time!

these losers have been holding all kind of belts and what not, something must be done about this nonsense!

    it's ridiculous!
