  1. it's not like you actually have to go to bed at 'bedtime' stay up in your room, be quiet, don't bother nobody. whatever.

  2. Dude, you need your sleep. 10:30 though? Pretty strict, but oh well. If you've got too much homework, why not just finish it IMMEDIATELY after coming back from school, and not doing anything else till you're finished? Stop making up excuses.

  3. It matters how she decides to reinforce this. You could just go to your bedroom and do your homework in there, if she goes to bed around that time, I think it would be okay. Maybe you could compromise, but if not, just do it in your room. It might be ridiculous, but you are still living under her roof and by her rules.

  4. Do some homework in your lunch and just carry on when you get home. You shouldn't have a fixed time but no later than 1130 on weekdays.

  5. 16 year olds should not have a bed time unless its ompletely ruing there sleeping patterns, or interfearing with school work. that age of teenager is there time for expieriences and its the best time to explore

  6. tell her that with a specific bedtime, you won't be able to get all your work done. also tell her that you're a grown man. depending on the state you live in, you just might be at or over the age of consent. it IS ridiculous that you don't get to stay up for as long as you want. you're mom's stupid for giving you a bedtime!

  7. Hey! im going to be a jr in high school with a lot of AP and advanced classes.  last year i had fewer APs, but it still took me until 11 or 12 to finish my hw and study.  My parents tell me to go to bed, but i tell them that i have to study to get good grades.  just tell them that they r being ridiculous and study as much as you need to

  8. Make a deal. How about you go into you room a 10:30 but can work on school work till 11?

  9. thats so stupid ,half 10 !? you should just rebel and tell her that your staying up .my mum used to be really strict but i just rebelled and now she is a lot more easy going because i proved to her that her rules were OTT and nothing bad was gonna happen if i ignored them x

also i threatened to move out x

sounds crazy but it works x

  10. lock yourself in your room and do whatever you want, your a big boy now, she should allow you to make your own decisions

  11. That sucks! ... I'm 14 and go to bed at 12:30 when i have school the next day. ( in the weekends i go to bed at 3or4 in the morning:D) Try convincing her you need to do ur homework....

  12. say you're grades will drop if you can't stay up later.

if it's for school, I'm pretty sure she'll need to change it.

    OR consider these:

    1. actually let your grades slip a tiny bit. parents dont understand until they see the negatives.

    2. Harry Potter style it and study under your covers with a badass 1980s flashlight.

    3. tell her that in college the average student sleeps about 3 hours and you need to get ready for that type of stressful enivroment.

    4. do #3 but basically make up all types of stats and facts about it, probably slightly convincing her.

i don't have a number 5. all i can say is, nighty nigty.

  13. once you go to bed, just sneak a light on

  14. Yeah i see you problem i had a school like that.

    Options:

1.Just keep trying to get through to her that this bed time is affecting your work and that your almost an adult and you shouldn't have one.

    2. Talk to someone that will probably persuade her to change the bed time like your dad, grandma, etc

    3. Close your door get a flash light and do the work.

    4. cant think of anything else right now...

  15. well she is just looking after you tell her you will try and meet that time but your work will come 1st and if you want tell her how you feel that kinda all you can do

  16. Unfortunately, it is your mother and she does make the rules. If you want, show her how much work you have to do, and if she wants, let her monitor your work to make sure you're not getting distracted. But if he still insists on lights out, then guess what? It's lights out!

Just confront her calmly, say that the junior year has a lot more work than the sophmore year did, and that you can not complete your assignments before 10:30pm, let her know that you will only stay up until your work in complete, and it will not be at an un-reasonable hour. If your grades drop any, then she can re-inforce the bedtime, and then you will have to find a way to do your work on your own time.

If she still insists on 10:30, unfortunately, deal with it, set your alarm clock for 5:30am, and get up to finish your work before school, and do as much as you can in school and after school instead of doddling.

  17. for every hour you go to bed before midnight is as good as 3 hours after midnight. So I suggest you crawl into bed around 10 and read yourself to sleep with one of those boring text books you have (that will put you to sleep) then set your alarm for 5 or 6 in the morning and finish your homework then. When your an adult you will never get to sleep when you want so enjoy it now.

  18. Yes a 16 year old should have a bedtime. If you can't get your work done by 10:30pm and you are that adamant about getting it done then you need to work on it immediately after school. If you have to cut out after school activities then so be it. If you have to stay up until 11pm occasionally to finish a harder project.. well ok, but you should definitely have a bedtime.  It doesn't matter how old you are... it's proven that certain age groups need a certain about of sleep to function properly, you need 8-9.5 hours of sleep per day.

Stop being difficult and listen to your parents... one day you will thank them.

  19. Do your work when you get home from school. Even if you get home at 4pm you have 6 1/2 hours. Your NOT an adult yet a year and a half is a long time. I'll be 18 in like 3 months (81 days) woo  (had to say that lol). But you should go to sleep at least by 11 I think but it depends on what time your school starts.

  20. I don't think asking you to be in bed by 1am or so would be unreasonable, but she can't force you to go to bed. 10:30 is WAY to early for a junior in highschool.

Maybe ask her if she plans on coming over to your house and tucking you in when you are 20, and if she will be there to wake you up. She could just not realize she is being over motherly here.

Give her some credit though, she is just worried about how much sleep you are getting.

  21. If she is making school harder for you by telling you to go to sleep just let her know. I would stay up anyway just in my room if i have a laptop. If you just can't conviceher try to organise your time better so you can get a chance to do all you homework before then etc.

Some people can't do their work at all at home so you're lucky you actually can-just make time if she dosen't let you stay up/

  22. Say you're old enough to realize when you need to go to sleep

  23. just tell her that you can take responsibility for your self say if i start slacking off in school then give me a bed time

  24. tell her she cant force your body to be tired when she wants it to be, and that you can decide when you are going to sleep yourself and thats not something you should be forced to do anymore at 16, sounds crazy to me especially at 16 kids your age stay up really late its just natural for some reason

  25. omar has a bedtime rofl he really does haha i stay up at midnight and then he says i g2g mwhwhahahah hahahah he gots a bedtime we make fun of him all the time
