Absolutely.  I have a lady friend of 82 years that is having this surgery in October, 2008.

May I say that the 82 year old person should be in reasonable health otherwise; not feeble or immobile.  Age is a number and, if through your life you take care of yourself,

maintain a good diet and exercise programme and do not engage in the taking of drugs, alcohol, with today's medicine and advanced techonlogy there isn't any reason whatsoever to not proceed.

i dont know. i understand that elderly people need surgery like we do but being of that age may affect them in the long run. they may not be able to make it through surgery. but a talk with the doctor may help
