What are the pros and cons of both? All of the music for what I'm trying to do for "Horn in F", so how would I have to change it for a B flat marching horn?

  1. Ok, well I would get a double horn. You can use a trigger to use the Bflat side, so you can learn the mellophone fingerings. And if you let go of the trigger, you can play with the F side. If  I were you I would do mellophone, because the Bflat side sounds WAY more cool, it has a full, projecting, majestic sound, and can still play delicate pieces perfectly. The marching horn in F,is easier to produce the notes, but has a weak sound. So ultimately a Mellophone.

P.S. mellophone is easier to hold. =)

    P.P.S. hope it helps =)
