Is there a particular amount of calcium supplement that should be taken with Dr ordered Vit D (2000 IU daily)? Also, I began taking 200 Magnesium Oxide approx 2 weeks ago. Should I supplement anything else? I take a daily multi-vitamin. Is this sufficient for calcium?

  1. A healthy female adult needs around 1200-1500mg of calcium a day and healthy males 1000-1200mg (if you think you eat enough yogurt, milk, soy products, green leafy veggies, grains, sprouts, nuts, etc...you don't need to take as much)

The form of Magnesium you're taking (magnesium Oxide) is the poorest kind available so try to find it in the form of Magnesium Citrate which is a little more expensive but your body will at least be able to digest around 80% in this form which with Oxide, it can only digest around 20-30% max..

You can take your calcium & Vit D together but it would be better to take them at different times.......The best source of Vitamin D is good ol' sunlight so try to get as much as you can during the daytime and also take your D supplement in the morning or when the sun is still out....Your Calcium level drops with sundown, so try to take it with you dinner...

    Hope this helps.
