Bec a mental retarded person don't know better, so it is not his or her fault as not his or her guilty. So, people and their both parents don't bawl them out and don't punish them in treated that they are evil and do YES know better as no excuse. Only they scold or bawl him or her out and punish them in treated that they need to learn right from wrong as won't do it again. It doesn't matter if they are good or bad, they should not make a mad or disappoint face to them, but they are permitted to smile at them and sometimes HAVE TO smile at them. If they got bad, they bawl them out ONLY for one sec to a few or several minutes, then they stop being mad at them and as stop making a mad face at them. And also, they punish them ONLY for a short time. When they die, they will ONLY go to heaven as cannot go to h**l. The one more thing to tell you about it is they cannot go to jail.

  1. If a person is mentally retarded it's not a matter for being pity on him/her. we should focus on developing their available potential whatever it is. and there are better ways to make them learn without punishing. they should be respected as an individual like others who are not mentally retarded.

  2. Mentally challenged people are often very impulsive and have few social skills and usually can be persuaded to things they would not normally do.  They often have a hard time of making a decision that is best for them and they often have a guardian or power of attorney. Some of these folks are higher functioning then others, some hold jobs and drive car, these folks are referred to as borderline MR/DD.  Mentally challenged folks should NEVER be treated without respect and dignity, and should be treated just as any other adult wants to be treated.  Most times mentally challenged people often do very good where good behavior is rewarded and negative behavior is discouraged.  They have dreams and goals and want to live just like everyone else, they want to get married and have kids, sadly most times their dreams never come true because of their handicaps and disabilities.  I work with these type of individuals and they are very dear to my heart, they keep you humbled and appreciative for what you have.   Everyone should get the chance to work with the MR/DD population, I count myself blessed to be able to work with them and encourage them to do their best, after all, that is only what we can all do regardless of a handicap.

  3. Nobody want to be mentally retarded. It's not a choice. People should be more understanding and do whatever you can to help them.

  4. do take pity they can't control it
