Is this the answer to bullying ?

A leading surgeon has revealed he has carried out cosmetic surgery on schoolgirls who were being bullied because of their appearance.

Douglas McGeorge, president of the British Association of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery, reshaped the nose of a 14-year-old girl from Essex.

He said he had also given expandable breast implants to teenage girls who were not developing at the same rate as others to prevent them being singled out by bullies.

  1. henna tats are better...

  2. hmmm, i'm not sure this is the right way to go... breast surgery because someone isn't developing quickly is NOT a valid reason for someone to have it in my opinion, people develop at different rates, you can't force it like that :/

i believe they would get bullied for having surgery anyway to be honest, i don't think it's going to solve anything... kids learning to have respect will though (unfortunately this is probably wishful thinking that it will actually ever happen though :/)

of course bullying isn't right, it's horrible (i have been bullied basically all of my life so i do know what i am talking about), but i don't think everyine having plastic surgery like this is the way forward

  3. Yes that's a difficult one. Either way they are gonna get bullied. For example " Hah look at you, you have no chest or big nose!" or " Hah mommy had to buy you new b***s and now your just fake"! Ect ect. People always have something to say negative about someone else. That's just teenagers being stupid teenagers. They need a good *** woopin by there folks to teach them not to talk down to people because its harmfull and traumatizing. Being a teenager is tuff. I think you shouldnt get surgery until your an adult and if you still feel that it is an issue for you. If something on you seems extremley abnormal I could understand. I hope what I have said will help you. Best wishes. I think a pretty face beats a buitiful body anyday.

  4. No I don't think this is the right way to combat bullying, the girls need to have their self esteem elevated not their b*****s, this will be another point the bullies can use against them. I wouldn't trust the surgeon an inch who has done this, no decent self respecting surgeon would operate on girls so young. As for the parents what the h**l is going on in their minds?

  5. no the girl should know a form of combat to combat the bullies-i get bullied cause i have red hair i so i waste them

  6. Difficult to answer.

Unnecessary in the moral light, really.

Adults should be setting a lesson for children that image doesn't matter.

However, I am a teenager myself and sometimes I do wish I could've had plastic surgery to stop people bullying me in the past. But I don't know if that's just because I was hormonal ergo very dramatic.

As I said, very difficult to clarify a straightforward answer.

  7. In my opinion, no.  What these children could do with is some self-esteem classes, learning to love themselves as they are.   What kind of a message is it giving them to say you have to change your appearance in order to be accepted??

The only exception I would say is if someone has a really disfiguring condition.  But nose jobs and boob jobs for children???  That is totally wrong in my opinion.

  8. This is not the solution children have to learn to accept who they are and they have to learn to love themselves changing themselves for others isn't the solution.  Besides by doing so it is like saying yes these bullies are better than me and it is my fault and i have to change, whereas this isn't the case.  Some people were bullied at schools but then they grew up and suddenly they become very popular. The attitude of caring too much about what others think isn't right.  We are all different.  Bullies will always find something to be nasty about with or without plastic surgery.

  9. I was up way to early this morning- I actually saw that on gmtv - i loved jodie marshes t-shirt-an excellent example to be setting to young teenagers!

    NOT...!

  10. Instead of cosmetic surgery that gives in to the bullies, both the bullies as well as the children being bullied should be counselled & taught that certain behaviour is mean & unacceptable.

Cosmetic surgery would only perpetuate the lie that there is certain kind of appearance that is appealling.

  11. I think this kind of stuff is so sad. Especially because the ones who got made fun of in junior high and high school are the ones who turn out to be models and beauty queens!

I don't think plastic surgeons should be able to perform these operations on young girls (or boys, for that matter). There's always stories on Good Morning America and such that tell the sad story of a young girl that just wanted a smaller nose because she was being made fun of, and something goes terribly wrong. Plastic surgery isn't made for teenage girls, and I think there should be some kind of restriction on it.

  12. I think not

  13. My answer is no.

Why would anyone, let alone a teenager, undergo a cosmetic surgery just becaue your looks had been ridiculed?

As a teenager I think the most important thing is to concentrate on your studies rather then being obessive with the way you look. I am not good looking either but I will never let my face to bow againest the surgery knives.

We are all uniqued in the way we look so why change them? Just have more confident in yourself and your charm will eventually capture the hearts of those around you.

Furthermore there are risk involve in doing all kind of surgeries. Spend money wisely and on more meaningful stuff.

    Cheers!!
