Question:

Should alcohol be sold on flights?

I work as a Flight Attendant and thankfully have not yet had a problem as such, but do people mostly feel it contributes to air rage, or would passengers be annoyed if suddenly airlines stopped selling alcohol and they couldn't have a drink at the start of their hols or after a hard day's work for example?

  1. No alcohol should not be sold on flights.

Some -  people do stupid things under the influence.

  2. no, people should wait until they arrive at their destination.

Why spoil it for others (even though it is the minority) - a few hours waiting wont hurt , but it could end up where they hurt others if they are drunk - violence or verbal abuse !!

  3. As a bartender /  heavy drinker/ frequent air traveller i will tell you this - alcohol on flights is expensive and the people who are lager louts / problem drunks are not generallky rich people so thery won't buy much alcohol on flights and if they try to take alcohol onboard it will be confiscated at security. I work in a small pub and if someone is drunk I have to physically throw them out (this does not happen often) - I am a barman, waiter and security guard at the same time. I don't think " air rage" is a serious problem. If it is, just tell one of your male collegues to punch the offender and when the plane lands (if his offences very serious). I don't think the drunken customers pose any serious threat as long as the pliot's cagin is locked

  4. It should be free with your meal, but not for sale to gangs of stag party lager louts to want to make their fellow passengers flight miserable.

  5. I think it would be a bad idea to stop because of two reasons:

    1. Alcohol helps people relax when they're uptight flying... especially since 9/11. if they stopped selling alcohol I feel like there would be more rage incidents then not.

    2. on planes, people just want to kick back... especially if its a multiple hour flight. why should everyone have to suffer because a few people are too stupid for their own good?

  6. No, they should give it away.

  7. h**l yh

  8. yeah, alcohol has stronger affects on the body at high altitude.

  9. I always have 2 drinks on my flights.  Don't care how far or how early...2 drinks.  If I coldn't get them on the plane i would just end up drinking (probably more) at the airport.  So..in short..I would be REALLY crabby if they stopped serving, but I would deal with it.

  10. they should be sold at a high price
