Bangladesh police say a crocodile killed and ate a 25-year-old after he waded into a pond next to a shrine in an attempt to receive the animal’s blessing, news.com.au reported Friday.

Inspector Humayun Kabir said Rubel Sheikh and his mother traveled to the Muslim Khan Jahan Ali shrine, where hundreds of people visit every day to offer hens and goats to the crocodiles living there.

it sounds like something which could be true. here in the north of karachi we have the shrine of Pir Mangho and there you have dozens of these whopping great crocodiles living inside a pool in the shrine, the devotees and keepers of the shrine believe that inside the crocodiles are the souls of the original followers (murshids) of the saint pir mungho and so are blessed creatures, and they feed the crocodiles stuff so that the murshids will be happy with them and that would please Allah who will make life easier for them.
