  1. Absolutely impossible in the civilized world.  Like it or not, advertising is a necessity of life.  Look at it like this:  In order to live, you must eat, and in order to eat, you must get food.  In today's world, less than one percent of the population grows their own food, so the other 99 percent must buy it.  In order to buy food, you must get money.  Some people steal money, but the vast majority get money the old fashioned way -- they EARN it.  In order to earn money, you must SELL something, and in order to sell something, you must (you guessed it) ADVERTISE!  Thus, advertising is an absolute necessity of life!  (Sorry Charlie!  Them's the facts!)

Now, I can just hear someone saying, "Well, I don't have to sell anything to get my money, I have a job!"  Wait a minute!  Didn't you have to apply for a job, turn in a resume, and go to an interview to get that job?  What are those things but forms of advertising?  And what are you selling, pray tell?  Why, you're selling your services to that employer, of course!  And every day, by good performance on the job, etc., you must continue to sell yourself if you want to keep that job.

So -- yes, people, advertising (as unpleasant as it is to admit) is a NECESSITY OF LIFE!

  2. Advertisement is an integral part of economy, though it must not be exploited.

Removing advertisements will mean you'll never get to know a potentially good product =] Who knows, it might be something that you've been looking for for ages.

  3. No, there is no effect on people unless the choose to be affected

  4. advertising is the way of life, if there was no advertising there would be no world, your car, your house, household items bills, food etc. have all come under advertisement. businesses would go bankrupt and things would get more expensive due to being less companies to support those companies with other products that they need to be able to sell their products with.

same goes with petrol, its hectic, companies are actually thinking and preserving oil and holding it and prices will stay the same and the oil prices have dropped so soon anough petrol will drop. also plastics is another thing made from oil, start recycling. you could make thousands off advettising the smallest things, why dont you give it a go?

  5. No. Advertiising is in the movies and anywhere a logo or graphic can be placed, and helps to pay for things that otherwise could not be used for schools, for example. Let's not forget the charities that benefit from corporate sponsors, and the research and development from sales due in part from advertising.

If there was a breakthrough in weight loss or hair loss products, wouldn't fat and bald people love to know about them?

  6. I don't like advertisements. I mean the advertisements that have just text and don't take forever to load are alright. Most advertisements I see have nothing to do with the site your on, or inappropriate. I understand advertising promotes a business, but the whole internet is covered with businesses. Some advertisements I feel make me want to go get what their selling (that would probably  be a gaming system or games w.e) Still banning advertisements would be GOOD. Just not great. I do want to see some advertisement. If their is none then I might not find a good place to find something. *cough**cough*Xbox360*cough**cough*

  7. Absolutely, they are a pain in the butt.

This response was bought to you by star bright toothpaste....you know your smile can be star bright....!

    ( results may vary!!)

  8. Ads shouldnt be banned they are informative and sometimes a source of entertainment, not to mention that it puts food on the table for millions and millions of people. Some Ads types should be controlled though, and some are banned the sort that can change behavior ie tobacco ads.

People have to choose what gets into their lives even though they cannot choose what they see and read they can decide and that decision making part does not involve any ads unless we want it that way.

Just enjoy the ads, coz marketing is the third generation of ideas in the selling history and its replacement will put ads in ur palm/mobile now thats is what should be banned.

  9. if advertising is banned, who is going to pay for the television you enjoy watching and the magazines you enjoy reading?

  10. No, it shouldn't be banned. It's a very important part of promoting a product or service.

  11. Some advertising is a pain in the butt.. simple as that.  I do sometimes wonder why there isnt more ads, but in smaller doses than these d**n extra loud ads that come on TV and run for over a minute.   Infomercials.. should be put to death.  How many times can the say the same boring SH|za over and over just to make time go by.

On the other side of the coin.. I often find out last about products that I wish Id been told about years ago.  Things that actually WORK!

There should be nothing but truth in advertising and hefty fines should apply for products that do not do as they claim.
