Should all house builders sell the house they can't sell to the government/councils at a discount?

  1. They could just sell them to private buyers at affordable prices. We don't need more council houses as they just get wrecked and used as drug dens and repairs are funded by home owner tax payers.


  2. As the Government doesn't have any money it would be the tax payers footing the bill. (Do you mean at a discount to what they might achieve in the open market?) They will sell them to the highest bidder whoever that is. After all, they are not a branch of Social Services.

    If house prices were allowed to fall to a sensible level, instead of every man and his dog talking about falling prices as though it were a tragedy, they would become more affordable.

  3. Hi, this is a good idea, except if I had payed £180,000 for a house I would want my neighbours to pay the same.

    If they were 'given' a house just like mine for about £75 per week, then they would not keep the grass nice and trimmed, they might also park a Rover 216 on the lawn too and register it as SORN.

  4. Yes i think it would be great idea. One can't loose the money on this business. Selling at discount is great idea.
