My husband and I plan to take a morning bus from Belize to Tikal, Guatemala. We plan to stay at the Jaguar Inn for one night and then return back to Belize the next morning. Is this safe?

  1. Yes it is safe! I have been there and I know how beautiful it is. Try to eat dinner ans stay at night in the hotel and see all the Tikal National Park during the day. It is a 10 kms, way to walk so at night you´ll be tired. Nothing bad sound from Tikal.

    Good trip and staying!

  2. Yes, Tikal is a very touristy place. As long as you don't do anything overtly foolish you should be ok.

  3. The Jaguar Inn is very nice. You'll be safe there.  I personally camped overnight in a hammock at Tikal.  I left my valuables with a friend who had a room at the Inn, but I wouldn't have slept out in the Jungle if I thought it was dangerous.

It is Guatemala, so anything can happen, but Tikal is one of their national treasures and sources of tourism, so they do their best to protect the tourists that are there.

Tikal is amazing.  You'll love it.
