  1. When a physician prescribes antidepressant medications for any indication, it is done so to restore functionality in the ill patient.  Modern agents are not regarded as 'hampering creativity.'

Medications which are indicated for a patient should be taken irrespective of the patient's profession.

  2. I'm a med student, I'm sorry to say this but, are you nuts?, antidepressants are only prescribe to people how have serious mind troubles. If you`re an artist you just need inspiration, come one there are hundred of beautiful things out there.

  3. My opinion is that the question should be answered entirely medically. I don't think most antidepressants work, but that is between patient and doctor, and between doctor and the medical research community, not between the patient and the patient's concerns about hampering creativity. Do you get my point?

  4. if it were me I wouldnt even be ON antidepressents. All the guys that shot up their schools and killed all those people were on antidepresents. Not saying you'd feel like that but why take the chance

  5. It depends on if the artist values creating art more or being happy more.

  6. obviously not if it is going to hurt your career and something you love doing
