Unfortunately, I disagree to a point. What is amazing and its been going on for years is why the Red Wings get so many cheap penalties called against them to allow teams that play against them a chance to compete.  Case in point, game 2 vs. Dallas when Holmstrom screening Turcco was called in the crease, clearly 1 skate barely went thru the top edge and he was out before the shot was even taken, and by no means interfered.  Bill Mc Creary and the rest of them should go back and ref minor hockey and allow some college and minor hockey refs to move up.  How for example does a team like the Wings, who is one of the least penalized teams for years now get so many bad calls against when they are clearly one of the most talented teams in the league for years and have been?  I personally think the refs are under the direction of Bettman to try to help weaker teams compete against better teams for the sake of playoff series to continue rather than play themselves out. I mean it happened all of the playoffs last year as well and was a root factor that the Wings lost (besides the 1 bonehead play by Lilja, losing the puck in front of his own net and watched Seleane roof it in OT for the Ducks to advance).  All in all, what it comes down to is the NHL does everything they can to help teams compete when they really can't, and/or money and competitiveness.  Wings should have swept Dallas, as they were given life after Detroit s goal was disallowed.  Unfortunately, we will see the same thing in the finals.  Will Sid the kid be untouchable? Will Homer get called for standing his ground in front of the crease on an important goal?  We shall see.  LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!!  Maybe it's a conspiracy? Gary Bettman is a joke.  This is definitely not the way to grow the sport.  Also there shall never be any more talk of changing the size of the nets!

Chill out. Hockey's still amazing and if you don't want to watch it because you think the refs are awful(I agree with you that they do make horrible calls though) and you think they are singling out my Pens and the Red Wings, don't watch. I'm not trying to be mean, i'm just being honest.

Boo-Hoo my team lost. GET A GRIP. The refs didn't cheat to help the Penguins and I highly doubt that they cheated to help the Red Wings. When you grow up you can be a hockey fan again.
