Question:

Should asylum seekers be made to work for their keep?

We often hear that dole claimants should be made to work for their dole.

Fair enough.

But an asylum seeker, genuine or otherwise, will be provided with food vouchers, accommodation, all heating bills etc, white goods and basic furniture supplied.

Should they be employed picking litter or whatever jobs need doing in order to earn their subsistence, just like some people say the dole claimants should? No work, no money?

  1. Maybe instilling our army careers for 4 years might put some off? If they have to fight for our country against their own at some stage they might think twice about even comming? duno!!!!

  2. They "SHOULD" yes you are correct but "WILL" they ? I doubht it.People will find other ways to get money without having to work

  3. Yes if they cannot be sent back for whatever reason then they should be made to pay their way.

  4. Absolutely. But they are actually prevented by law from working.

Wouldn't it be much better to allow them to work and support themselves, as most of them would want to ?

  5. yes they should be made to work ive been sick 6weeks off with cancer therapy i got 70 ssp thats all the amount of imms ive seen walking along doing nothing annoys me knowing they get more than me andhave never done a days work since they came here and don't forget the taliban who hijacked a plane which cost the tax payer 5million they got a three bed house each benefits but no prison its against their human rights you get thrown in jail for not paying council tax ive emailed gordon brown and am waiting for a reply

  6. Not a bad idea. Rubbish sorting comes to my mind. Seriously. A worth while practice. Less into landfill with the retrieved recyclables being sold as commodity they would then actually pay their way. But lets include dole claimers and low risk prisoners too.

  7. Unless they are English Speaking, they should not be allowed in the door.  They should go to a country where they speak the language and they then will be able to live in that country, work, and live a productive life.

That way rather than sponging off the American Taxpayer for the rest of their lives.  And, by the way, they may speak some English, but they almost always cannot write in it, or deal with it on an employment form, and so forth and so forth.  They should not be allowed to go anywhere but to a country where they speak the language.

  8. no they should be sent back, just like Australia do to them. This country is a mess we need to toughen up  :)

  9. Wer'e a small island, we can't even accomodate or take care of our own people, we have no capabilities to provide for the foreign hordes that continue to invade us as assylum seekers, when they really seek economic improvement froim their own miserable  environments. Their countries wouldn't lift a finger to help us sio why should we help them.? charity starts at home.! I say stop them coming in or throw em back out when they get here. Failing that, send them to that island we put napoleon on.!

  10. The vast majority want to work - they are unable to due to government restrictions - it's not due to lacking the inclination.

  11. I think that if  asylum seekers are really genuine, they should not only work, but try hard and learn to speak English and fit in with the local people, genuine people from the UK are not against asylum seekers that are persecuted in there own country's and want a stable and happy life with there families here in the UK, the problem is when they start to use Racism & Religon to there own advantage, that's when people in the UK  get angry, i dint think that any UK citizen would get the same treatment in the country's that the asylum seekers come from.

  12. they shouldnt be here in the 1st place end of

  13. For most automatic deportation would be much better, and for the rest, YES,,, why should I have to help support someone who has never contributed to this country, who may have just got off the plane or boat and destroyed their documents and papers so that they can remain in the UK at our expense.

Charity begins at home, not to any Tom, d**k or Harry that just turns up pleading poverty.

  14. drrgrg4   re e  omfo3  3ro3f   sde fe on a sunday but only if they aRE CURRY CHEFS

  15. The new PC term is ''Sanctuary Applicants''.

So how can you force a person who is seeking Sanctuary from oppression to work?.

The PC police have already tied you up in knots.

However my answer is certainly, everyone should work, no matter what it is.

  16. They WANT  to work--its government regulations that prevent them

  17. Yes!!

  18. Yes

  19. As long as they show signs of physical or mental torture they should be allowed to stay and work.  If they have no proof of torture or true fear for their lives from a rogue government then they should be sent back.  I've seen too many "asylum seekers" try to whip money from a cash point, they tried it on my missus lets just say the proverbial "battered like a fish" springs to mind.

  20. i think they should just be sent home.

  21. No they should not get any money, they should all go to prison until a flight is ready for them to go home,I have never seen as many foreign people in my life .Our town is over run with people who do not have the right to be here. They pray on our young girls looking for wedlock to the easy passport road. It is time people made a stand, what happened to the good old British backbone! find it stand up make your voice heard.Be British !

  22. Asylum seekers are not allowed to work. Their status is supposed to be "stateless" which means they are effectively nowhere, waiting to be sent home or allowed into the country.

The fact that they all destroy their papers so that this is the status they have is quite a problem because you can't send someone home if they won't tell you where they came from.

It's all a horrible mess which the EU should be sorting out but they're only worried about how big an apple should be or whether a banana must have a 30 degree bend in it..

  23. I think they should be deported asylum is abused you should seek it in your first and nearest port of call as far as i know there is no war in our european neighbours so yeah ship em out or shoot em i say enough is enough i don't care for the body count or people im past this humanity bullshit now
