  1. To the first answer on this page. A king hit does not mean from behind its a punch out of the blue when the other person is not expecting it. And i think Barry Hall should be out for the rest of the season, he is a dirty, dirty player and i cant stand looking at his ugly mug.

  2. he should (and will) get about 6 weeks

  3. the most time is a Life Ban.

from what I have seen, he will take the set penelty...it will be anywhere between 4-8 weeks and he also has a broken hand. Yes, very bad but he now has a rest on the sideline and a broken limb!

  4. I was watching that when it happened if he doesn't get 6 - 8 weeks or more ............... then there is something wrong

  5. I'm a swans supporter right and i thought it was awesome, he will go for about 6-8 weeks depending on if it reaches the tribunal, the eagles were expecting revenge after the 2006gf and all that controversy over cousins and i think that staker PAID the price unfortunately......and wtf did adam hunter think he was doing coming in after the hit acting like a HERO....yea barry is gone, but is out anyway for his wrist injury hitting that bloody sign....will be hard to earn back his reputation!!!

  6. a. it wasn't a king hit!

    b. it was left handed and the other guy is dead set girl!

c.he broke his hand it happens

d.4 weeks max on sidelines for punch

  7. 1. A king hit is when you go someone from behind and he did do it face to face.

    2. As for the amount of time it was a WCE player he should get a pat on the back and a warning not to do it to any eastern team player.

  8. If it was anywhere else he would be in jail! That was worthy of 7 weeks and on hos good record that should be the end of his season!

  9. Six weeks for a broken wrist, so he's laughing. May even get a couple extra just to make sure .  lol

  10. dont know i dont watch g*y FL

  11. He definately should pay the price for his big hit on Staker...it was uneccessary and it just didn't need to happen...but hall is still gonna be out with injury so it probably doesn't make much of a difference to him apart from more opponents fearing him and some West Coast Eagles holding a grudge against him...

  12. h**l yes, he is absolutely disgusting. he should be so ashamed of himself. and the swans should be embarassed.

  13. As I posted in a previous answer:

12 weeks minimum, possibly the Season.

It was a deliberate and intentional act of thuggery. Nothing less.

I would almost go as far as the AFL having a good look at whether or not he is even fit to be considered as a player representing the AFL and cancelling his contract.

With all the attention on players actions these days and AFL wanting to put players on pedestals as precious roll models, actions such as this need to be stopped.

I do not buy for one moment "oh I just had a brain fade" as a defense.  If that is the case, and he just had a "brain fade" he should retire from the game immediately. He is a trained boxer and one punch can severely injure or even kill a person.

I defy anyone to come up with any defence that makes this action right and acceptable anywhere, let alone on a football feild in front of thousands at the venue and who knows how many on TV.

BTW: Jai – a king hit is not just from behind. A king hit is act of cowardice as it is simply a punch that is unexpected from the person receiving it. WCE player or not, any player does not deserve to be blatantly assaulted.

Davelee78 – aside from anything else, a player who deliberately and intentionally punches another player, regardless of whether or not you think it is hard or not, should not only be suspended for a very long time but should also come very close to criminal charges being laid. I think he should think himself lucky if he is not charged with assault.

  14. the 7 games was substantial

  15. if it actually was a king hit, then he would get a life ban...

I think for a deliberate and somewhat violent punch to the face, he should surely get 6 weeks.

he didnt actually break his wrist punching the WCE player either.

  16. NAH 5-6 weeks should do it,whats the big deal he got frustrated and lost it -with a nice left cross to the jaw, staker will think twice next time he tries to hang off and all over big bazza!

  17. 6-8 weeks

  18. The new one punch rules should also apply to sportsman to show they aren't above the law.

  19. I think Barry Hall deserves a lengthy ban more than eight weeks. Also does any one actually beleive he broke his wrist, because at the end of the match when he was talking to roo's he was streching his leg with his left hand and holding a full cup of powerade with the other. I personally think this is a simpathy cover up to get him less time. And his a little girl for hitting staker, people like that need to be booted from the AFL.

  20. To the fool who said it was just a slap... do you stand in  fornt of the mirror with a cape around your neck and pretend to be Superman?  So, you could take a slap like that and still make smart remarks?  Love to see it, buddy.  No really - I'd love to see you take a slap like that and come up smiling.  Hah.  You'd be crying like a baby. Hall is a thug.  And anyone who defends him is guilty of supporting thuggery.  This is isn't about who barracks for what team.  Its about the spiriti of the game.  Hall clearly doesn't understand spirit.  Nor do you.

  21. If someone kept pestering me like that w.a. wanker, I would job him too.

Hall should still get suspended though, at least a month.

It sure is a great advert for the game for kids to want to play!  That shot has been replayed so many times already and I don't think many would have missed it.
