  1. Mate, get in the ring and wear a couple before you make that comment!!

Woody is right on the money!!

  2. If you have ever blocked a punch with your face you would realize that those gloves are hard, and the padding does not make them feel soft.

Taking out a couple of ounces is not going to make any difference in the effect of the punches.

  3. No. The weight of the gloves is not where the excitement comes from. It's the actual fighters who dictate the excitement of the fight. Besides, it would lead to more unnecessary injuries.

  4. no foo. less oz= more deaths

  5. Bro thats how people get killed. Taping your hands and wearing gloves are there to protect boxers from injuries. Taking them away would contradict the very reason they were made.

  6. With lighter gloves, a lot more fighters would end up getting stopped on cuts, and facial injuries would be much more severe. When a fight gets stopped on cuts, it sucks. This would also cause many boxers to lose to inferior fighters just because they were unlucky and got cut.

Less padding in the gloves may also cause some fighters' careers to be limited due to things such as eye injuries or hand injuries. The padding is there for a reason.

  7. While we're at it, just give the men pistols.

    Of course not.

  8. Enough fights are ended in TKO victories.  Lighter gloves would increase the number and lead to less exiting bouts.

  9. its not the weight on the gloves, its the mentality of the boxers, many of them now days dont want to get hit so they play it safe, thats why dont see boxers get knocked the f out, but yeah these guys are trained to punch they can knock you down with a 25oz glove
