  1. Digital thermostats can be programmed to keep the fan on for ventilation you also need to make sure you have a 5 degree deadband between the cooling setpoint and the heat so the heat will be set at 70 then the cooling needs to be 75 if none of this applies or is correct there is a controll wire incorectly wired

  2. No absolutely not.  Is your home actually cooling down?  When you put your hand to the vent is it actually blowing cool air?

Sometimes what happens is the compressor will go out and the fan will still run but it won't blow cool air.  Another possibility, if you ran the thing for too long, you may have froze your entire unit.  It will literally freeze your unit outside in 100 degree weather and could take hourse to defrost.  This happens when you let it run too long and the most common way this happens is when you try to cool down your place too much without a break.  If you come into your home and it is 90 degrees do not set your temp to 78.  Depending on how long it takes for your a/c to cool the room you want to take steps down with a 10-15 minute break between each cycle.  So I would say take on 2-4 degrees each cycle and make sure that a/c gets some time to rest.

  3. Check your thermostat... Put fan on (auto) its probably in the on position.(it will run nonstop) Bet its it..

  4. no

  5. No when the air in the home reaches the temp you set it on it should go off. Unless you have really bad insulation and the cool air is going right out the windows.
