Perhaps have an official naming ceremony at age 21? Or perhaps even younger at around 13?

  1. No.  There's always the choice to change your name anyway and have it legally done, so no, a temporary name isn't necessary in my opinion.

  2. No. Just give them a sensible name, not something weird like Lulubelle. They can always change their name legally if they want to.

  3. That's the way some native americans did it.  A child wasn't named until about age seven when they could name him according to some unique aspect of his personality.

  4. It sounds like a cool idea but for a woman and a man to have to carry/take care of that child until term...to have created that baby in the womans womb...I think they deserve the right to decide on a name, they know what fits and feels right. I am honored to know that my name was chosen with care and will never change it. Although some children receive rather cruel names they can still change them later on...so basically some children really do just have temporary names until they are 18.
