  1. it depends on the age and maturity level of the child

  2. Children should read, period.

The only thing is that they should not read about anything you would not like them to see on tv.

  3. What type of emotional books?  I mean if it is a book that teachs you about different types of emotions and how to express them, then yes.  Or if the book is teaching them about cause and effects of things through emotions then yes.

  4. It depends on the age of the child and how mature they are. My 10 year old is mature so I say yes to her but my 8 year old, I would prob say NO

  5. Lots of good points are made.  What kind of books are you talking about.  Is the subject not age appropriate.  Reading books that can help your child experience emotions indirectly is a great way for you to teach your child how to deal with different emotions and situations.  The key is to read together and discuss what you have read!

  6. only if there s an adult to explian in a way they can understand . chec k the book first!

  7. Children should be exposed to different forms of literature, but always with a parent's guidance. Read together, ask questions, have family dialogues going, especially with sensitive material. It's comforting to them to know that you are involved and good for you to stay on top of any issues or questions that might crop up.
