  1. no

  2. Yes of-cause they should wear a helmet to protect their heads-and face...

Sending a young child out to bat without a helmet is like Adam Gilchrist going out with out his 'box'-very dangerous

  3. ya

  4. yes they should

  5. They shouldnt be using proper cricket balls at his age -- sue the school lol --- if they do then yes they should provided helmets

  6. Of course he should.

You provide them if school does not.

A helmet should be worn by children for games, cycling and such.

  7. Your son is obviously Under 13 age group which means that he is allowed to play with a hard ball. However, he is not allowed to bat without a helmet without explicit writen consent from you the parent. the same applies with wicket keeping and close fielding.

  8. Of course. They are very prone to head injury & it seems the only sensible thing to do.

  9. Cricket has become such a wussy sport anymore.  The batsmen look like knights going out to battle with all the protective gear they got on.  Maybe they should all play badminton...oh no, they might get hit on the nose with the shuttlecock so better bring a helmet.  When we played cricket in the 60s and 70s, we didn't use any gear (other than pads and gloves) nor did the test players.  The pitches were not that good and the bounce was uneven.  You learn to get out of the way. That is the enjoyment of cricket.  If you are afraid then go play chess...oh, with your helmet on.  The other player might hit you on the head with the pawn.

With all the protective gear and placid pitches they have taken the fear factor out of the game.  No wonder the batsment are scoring all these runs and cricket is becoming a boring game.

  10. They have 2 wear helmets... why were helmets made in the first place to protect ppl from breakin their bones!!! u have 2 make sure he wears a helmet next time. :)

  11. yes,they should

  12. yes up to the age of 18 if a hard ball is used

  13. Children should wear Cricket helmets for safety problems.

  14. For kids under the age of 10, IMHO they need to taught

cricket using Tennis balls. Once they perfect the game skills,

they need to be moved on to play with the regular cricket ball.

When I  started playing cricket, we started with tennis balls -

we taped the tennis ball later on as we grew older and learn

the skills. If one can learn the skills with a bouncing tennis

ball, the same kid can learn easily to adopt with the cricket

ball at a later stage. Several reasons to go with tennis ball:

    1. No need of protective wear

    2. Ball bounce is good

    3. Kids do not get hurt with a heavier ball

    4. Able to mix up kids of different ages

The only draw back that I can think of the use of tennis ball:

Catching is not the same. But that is not difficult to adjust.

Schools and coaches that tend to use the regular ball with

kids under age 10, are waiting for a law suite or a major

    mishap to happen.

I say no no to helmets and cricket ball for kids under 10.

  15. yes, they should.it will be safe for them as well as you should bring one for your son.

  16. They definately should wear helmets. A child's brain is a delicate organ that needs all the protection it can get.

Bear in mind also that a child's judgement and reflexes are not up to speed so it would be easier for a fast bowler to pin them with a bouncer

  18. Do the kids have heads? Yes, they should wear head gear all the time. I was hit by a cricket ball in the jaw when I played for under 15 team. We didn't have helmets back then...too poor to have such luxuries!

  19. Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

  20. I hate Cricket but headgear sounds perfectly sensible to me.

  21. They should wear cricket helmets. It is a safety issue. If they don't provide the helmets, you just go buy one or something. It is really dumb that the lesson doesn't provide helmets for the kids.
