Do they pose a direct threat to the world by allowing them to vote? Should the verbal denial of global warming be considered "hate speech?"

  1. Well, in Germany it's a crime to deny the holocaust today. Maybe you will get your wish. I won't deny global warming. What are we going to do with all the politicians then?

  2. No, but people that think that global warming is real should be re-educated.  There go the liberals wanting something called "hate speech".

  3. And, if those who are the proponents of this global threat have it wrong, should they all be sued for acts of ''Global Terrorism'', then be removed as social pariahs, be re educated, re sculptured and be put up for adoption ~ on some other planet?

I ain't saying that anyone is Right or Wrong, but I am saying that what is sauce for the Goose is also sauce for the Gander.

    Sash.

  4. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, we shouldn't shun the ones that don't agree with us. If we were to separate and judge society by their beliefs we would have more severe problems then global warming. When will we all just learn to accept each other as fellow human beings? Nobody should be forced to go to re education camps, relearning the facts might not always change their perspective.

  5. No, but I do think there needs to be some sort of re-education.  Conservatives conflate it with liberal bleeding-heartedness, something the condescending Gore movie didn't help.  My father is a geologist and professor of Geology, and I myself am a Geology major, and the phenomenon does exist.  There IS a consensus in the scientific community.  Of course, there are the arguments that the Earth's climate goest through cyclical changes, but the rate at which the Earth is "heating up" has increased logrithmically since the Industrial age, pointing to some "unnatural" cause.  The planet behaves as a system, so there will be associated extremes of weather, not just "warming."  In my opinion this culture can't wrap its mind around the reasoning behind it and the understanding of the Earth as a system, one that's more circular than linear.  Does that make sense?  Maybe to you, but not to those who profess it as some ideology of some liberal coup of the media.  I myself tend to be rather conservative economically and socially, but am at least able to understand that action must be taken to save the planet.

  6. it seems a bit extreme but i do get your point. the worst part is, i know some adults who refuse to believe in global warming, despite all the facts and scientists opinions. it would be good if the govt. could start putting commercials on TV, or even a whole program dedicated to the threat of global warming and how to prevent it from destroying our world. of course, with TIVO and DVR, it might be difficult to get people to watch but if all the senators and most politicians publicly endorsed it, more people would watch.
