Did you know a Mexican pizza at Taco Bell has 1400 calories?

I notice in NY City restaurants have calories on the menu boards. I think it's a great idea. Don't you?

  1. Yes they should. People need to have an idea of what they are getting into, or should I say, whats getting into them. Sometimes you can think that you are having something kinda of healthy and in reality it is as loaded with as many fat and calories as something you thought was horrible to eat.

  2. yes i do too, especially for people on strict diets,

along with the fat and sugar content also would be nice,

  3. I think  fast food restaurants should give the same information as any other already pre-packaged food.. right  on the wrappers. The sit down kind should have the info under the menu items.

Go NY City. I would love to see that happening where I live...that and the fat grams in a easily accessible place as well.

my dad is diabetic and it is really hard to eat out and not mess up his blood sugars.

  4. I think so too! Let people see how unhealthy fast food is!

  5. ya its a good idea

  6. No. I know fast food is high is calories and fat content going in. If I want to know the calories and fat content, I'll have lunch at Joe's Lawn Grass Salad Shop. I also don't what to know what part of Miss Piggy is in my hot dot or the first name of the cow on my hamburger. And I don't want a formal introduction to a lobster in a tank that is going to be on my plate in 20 minutes.

Calories on a menu board? Next step will be a warning burned into the bun on your Big Mac. From there it's only a matter of time until they try and reduce trans fatty acid...oops, it's to late, the PC police have already been here.

  7. There are lists available if you ask, some places have them posted in the establishment, just not near the menu.

If they were to put calories on the menu they would have to put everything else as well (sugar, vitamins, carbs, etc..) and it would be too cluttered. It's a good idea, but not practical.

If you are that worried about it ask for the list.

  8. Yes, that would be a good idea, especially if they also gave a breakdown on what amount was from fats, carbs and proteins. Maybe they are afraid that if people knew then they wouldn't eat there.
