Should education be geared to individual needs and not to a national curriculum?

I believe there needs to be a framework else planning and assessing classes would be really difficult. But I think each child needs a key person to be able to ensure that support and interest are being taken into account.

In early years the new framework starting in Sept is actually geared around individual needs and is going to be very interesting :)
