Recently, the "14K gold" watch I received from my ex caused a horrible rash on my arm. He had given me several pieces of authentic
gold jewelry then apparently slipped me this fake watch. Since the split I have not been able to sell the jewelry he gave me as I was offered about 5% of it's retail value. Attempts also failed on eBay costing me $.
I had made the mistake of giving him an expensive Tag Heuer watch that is still worth more than $1500, as well as other gold men's jewelry. He did not seem to own anything of value prior to our relationship.
I left him a message that I had listed it for sale on 2 websites, and he could split the proceeds with me. That would be enough for him to get an older Tag, and pay for the 20 year old 14k watch I just bought.
I left him a few messages about my rash, and he said I was vitamin deficient. I said I don't have a rash on my right arm where a 14kt bracelet is. He finally agreed to return the watch to me, then reneged stating he did not want his memories sold.
He may never give me the $ for the watch, but it's a hard pill to swallow.
Anyway, it helps to bounce hard lessons learned off Answerer's to get their point of view.
