this attitude does not work in any other walk of life, if a great sitcom or drama has a great run for 4 or 5 years and then all of a sudden becomes unwatchable people stop watching. and rightfully so!

same should go for sports teams, if you don't win you should be able to take a break from the team and then resume when they are good again

  1. No they should dismiss them and support whichever Glasgow team is top of the league at the time.

  2. Of course they should.  You support them through the good and the bad times.  That's what being a supporter is all about.

  3. look at rangers fans they are rotten and have been for years and they still follow follow!!

  4. Depends

  5. So you're a glory hunter?

The team you support always needs support from the fans dont they - if they do bad and nobody turns up, i think that wouldn't help the teams confidence somehow!

  6. why should we stop watching them is that not why we are called fans or supporters

  7. I understand the comparison that you're trying to make, but I think that sports teams are different than a TV show. I'm a Pittsburgh native & an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, including the Pirates. They are just 2 losses away from tying the record for the most consecutive losing seasons (16). Yes, it is very frustrating for me as a Pirates fan, but I am not a fairweather fan. When the Pirates become a winning team again, at least I can say I stuck by them through the worst of times. It makes the wins (& hopefully another WS championship) that much sweeter. I was living temporarily in NYC when the Steelers won the '05 Super Bowl. All of a sudden as I was walking around Manhattan, I saw all these people wearing Steelers jerseys, hats, etc. Gee, where were they when the Steelers weren't winning? I hate bandwagon fans. Either you're a fan or you're not.

  8. Prison break springs to mind,Rangers fans seem to have no bother supporting their team

  9. TV is not a way of life football is !

  10. It should not matter how your team is performing.  You should be true to your team, and support them no matter what.  I have rooted for the same team since I was a young child.  They went through a rough patch where they were a joke for about 15 years.  I wore my jersey on every game day, and cheered for them like it was a championship game.  This is loyalty.

  11. What team do you support? Partick Thistle.

  12. Nonsense.

How can you compare a TV show to being a football fan ?

A TV show can't provide the emotional highs and lows that being at a match can.

I remember when my dad started taking me to Palmerston, and we had a few good results, but on our fourth visit we lost 2-0 and at the final whistle I started bubbling away like a wee bairn... well, I was only 5.

Then 25 years later in the Scottish Cup final, when JT scored, I turned around and flung my arms round a complete stranger and the pair of us started jumping up and down like a couple of complete mentalists.

Can any TV show make you behave like that ?

    No.

No matter how bad or how good your team is playing, you stick with them.

A football team is for life, not just while they're playing well.

  13. Sitcoms and sports are two very different things, in my opinion.

Sitcoms are for entertainment, I don't really think that people work very hard when they're in them.

But in sports teams, the players work very hard to even be known throughout the world. Think of how many times they must've been EXHAUSTED after a practice session. Loyal fans will definitely stick with the team. As the proverb goes, "Failure is the stepping stone of success." I don't think that any team can skyrocket to the top without stopping, so I don't really agree with you.

  14. Lol! NO..your mad..

  15. Football teams aren't TV shows. You ain't born into a TV show. A lot of people are born into football teams. You support them since you were a baby. Some of my earliest memories are football.

When your a kid you watch turtles, or some other c**p. As you get older & maturer your interests move on, but with football maybe your interests don't move on they just change

    example..

Kid: - "he's brilliant cause he does tricks"

Adult:  - "see that **** with his ******* show boating, if he tries that one more time I will smash the ******* TV up. Useless ****"

Anyway support your team through & through, but let it be known if you don't like something. It doesn't mean abandon them.

  16. I think every team goes through a bad patch.but not to support them is wrong, i think if you got something better to do that time...rather do that and look at the score after the 90 minutes
