Should fat people be excluded from the death penalty?

Richard Wade Cooey is currently on death row in Ohio for raping and murdering two young girls in 1986. He says his execution should be overturned because he is too fat, and this will cause him extra pain during the execution.

Is it just me or is this the worst excuse against the death penalty or what? What should be done with this rapist/murderer? Those who say that life in prison is harder on inmates than the death penalty -it certainly doesnt seem that way here. I mean this guy is just sitting on his *** eating and getting fat as can be while in prison. Hes got it easy-hes got it made. If life in prison is harder than death, then why do all the inmates fight the death penalty?

I saw that this morning, he isn't scheduled to be executed until october, plenty of time to put him on a diet and treadmill.

Allen Lee Davis was around 300lb when the State of Florida executed him in the electric chair in 1999. They had to wheel him into the death chamber in a wheel chair and had to rebuild the chair to accommodate him. His execution was botched. You can see pictures at www.ccadp.org, but be warned they are very graphic. I don't agree with the death penalty, but this man knew the penalty he would receive for his crime when he committed it and, in my opinion, being fat is not an excuse. They should put him on a strict diet. They could always hang him, I would think obesity would make that much quicker.

I'm fat but i believe in the death penalty and i feel being fat is no excuse to get away with rape and murder put him on a diet and exercise i hear jane fonda has some good exercise tapes out

It makes me sick.  I don't see why he should be excluded just based on weight.  Do more calculations and possibly give him a higher dose.  He is being killed by lethal injection.  I highly doubt an overdose should be an issue.

If they let him switch to live in prison because of this, it makes me wonder if the total weight of our prison population, death row in particular will increase.
