Should gilchrist be the captain of deccan chargers?

laxman to be honest should not be even in the team ,gilly is a very nice fellow and vice captain of the worlds strongest team

there are no rules that only indian players should be captains as warne is the captain of rajasthan royals(if a person like warne can be made the captain then why not gilly)

Yes.Laxman is hyderabad's local hero & so to develop passion,he is the captain.Gilchrist being the captain is never  a bad idea.A person named warne who was a non indian was made a captain bcoz there was no GREAT local hero from rajasthan.So,they choosed a foriegn captain.All the captains belong to their states.

Like this,all the captains have been named from the cities they belong.Rajasthan & Chennai did not have  a local HERO[FAMOUS] from their city.So,they had a different captain.

Hyderabad has laxman & so laxman is the captain of hyderabad.

& to the above answerer,this is the reason why some famous cricketers don't bcam captains when there were still better cricketers than that one..

All I can say is that Laxman shouldn't be captain. I don't care if he's the local hero because before the IPL laxman has never played a T20 match. Thus how can be captain well in one. He may be the local hero, but has anyone thought that he may be the local hero who's actually slowing the team down

Laxman is a gentleman as he sacrificed Icon status now it is time he promotes a deserving captain to the team and as you see Gilly is a top contender for the post.

Laxman is a class player. T20 is about exciting cricket by

slugging the bowler to all parts of the ground. Laxman is local

to Hyderabad and fans would like to see him lead. More over

captaincy has very little to do - in a team game it is planned

ahead of time with several plans and I bet he takes suggestions

from other senior players. Every captain does that and keep an

open mind. Gilly is a great and he is also a captaincy material.

yeah i think its a huge publicity stunt making indian stars captains without any real reason. u mention laxman is one...also in punjab kings they have a current international captain in mahela jayawardene and they give it to yuvraj. and look at mumbai...they have sanath jayasuriya a player with tons of experience and international captaincy and harbajan is the captain. ironically those 2 teams have yet to win a match. coincidence? i think not
