  1. No, they should not.  If you'd like to shield your information, buy through a third party, barter, don't buy anything new,  and don't use credit cards.  Maybe create an alias. Nobody has to know.  Purchasing a car would be difficult because you have to register with the dmv, but you can shield most of your records if you really want to.


  2. I don't think so. Right to privacy is important
