...from running for President or Vice President?

Apparently, some people think Delaware has sufficient population, but Alaska does not.

Population, 2006 estimate (Source: U.S. Census Bureau)

Delaware: 853,476

South Dakota: 781,919

Alaska: 670,053

North Dakota: 635,867

Vermont: 623,908

Wyoming: 515,004

  1. Obama has presided over a total of...  ZERO people.   A Senator doesn't run anything.  A governor runs the state.    Alaska might be small, but 670,053 is still much higher than zero.

  2. No. just because you governed a less populated state doesn't mean that you are not American.

Go to Russia, maybe you can find someone there to agree with you.

  3. Why? Some of these states control "MOST" of the Natural resources in this country. Alaska provides 20% of our Oil! These states are just as important as the big inner cities that eat up tax dollars for Welfare and other Scocailist programs.

Are you saying this states don't count? Try running this country without them!

    Proud Vet

  4. I think we should disqualify LAWYERS from office.

    McCain/Palin '08

neither of them were ever lawyers ++++++

Also---Alaska has the largest land-mass of any of our states----and is right next door to Russia and Canada.

  5. It seems the Democrats are trying to find easy ways to disqualify people who they think should not be VP when some that have nothing can get away with being president. The rules of engagement are changed near the end of the game to suit them. This makes sense they would  try this. The election between Bush and Gore they try to change the end results to suit them. Fight corruption in America with McCain Palin 2008. Did you think of checking out the state of Delaware when stating this.

  6. No.  Nor should they be preferred

  7. Yes!

  8. Well.....we let Bill Clinton who was Governor of Arkansas of all places be our President.  I can not imagine where the Dems get off talking about anyone not having enough experience for VP when Obama had been Senator for 18 months prior to running for President!  And he voted "present" for many of the tough votes.  Makes you wonder.....Talk about a double standard....

  9. Well Alaska is the wealthiest state so yah they should be included. If McCain wins this is a sign he wants to get at the oil in Alaska.

  10. How about en. from KENYA or Malaysia ? with 143 days on the job?At least McCain and Palin are Americans without question.B-HO maybe not qualify to be president anyway.

  11. Really, what is your question, you have to know that they would not be disqualified!!! Not everyone running for office is a DC dummy!!!

  12. This makes no sense to me.  However, I can see a case for disqualifying anyone who hates America, doesn't salute the flag, commits treasonous acts, or associates with those who have done so.

  13. Of course not. The constitution says only that a candidate must be a natural born citizen. It does not specify where in the US the candidate must have been born or resided.

However, most people look at experience, character, education, stance on issues, and vision of the future when choosing who to vote for. If you are trying to make some kind of comment about people dismissing Sarah Palin, you should be aware that people's reservations about her stem from more than what state she comes from. For instance, I'm troubled by the fact that she only has a bachelors in journalism - personally, I'd like to see candidates have more education in areas more applicable to the office.

  14. No, that would be against the constitution.

  15. Anyone from New Jersey I would say yes.

  16. No, they should not be disqualified.

  17. I think anyone should be able to run if they are nominated. Regardless of the size of their state.

  18. No they should not be disqualified, that's like saying you are only considered a parent if you have raised no fewer than 3 kids.

    McCain/Palin '08

  19. Nope....they are all 'qualified'....some simply have better judgement.

    Obama/Biden 2008

  20. No.  All factors need to be taken into consideration. They need to consider,.....

education of individual, lifetime accomplishments, certifications, leadership ability, the person's moral fiber (what do they sand for, have they broken any laws, or spent time in jail), their immediate family should be vetted as well (if you're married or have close relationships to criminals, then that speaks to their character), what if any service work has been performed, or what have they done to help people in their community.   All these things to into what makes a candidate.

(*assumes the person was born in the US and is a US citizen)

  21. No.  That is ludicris.  Why should any of that matter?
