  1. just think if there was no electricity ,no computers,no household facilities etcetra.b,coz people thought that they could be subjected to bad usage.of course every invention has a disadvantage but, pros overcome the cons.the answer for a better, safer world is not stopping the inventions but educating the people about their cons.

  2. New inventions are boon to humanity. If some are misusing them punish them under law.

  3. Moral advances never keep pace with technological ones. The trouble with being a Luddite is that you can rarely tell what use an invention can be put to. The Chinese invented gunpowder to make their celebrations more interesting. Look what happened to that. Research on the atomic bomb gave us nuclear power. You don't want to control research; you want to control how the research is used.

  4. I completely agree with you.......we shouldnt stop inventing but should definitely learn how its misuse can  be stopped and bring an awareness among the ppl about it...

  5. No, because there are quite good ones out there. Which they should continue doing new inventions.

  6. what?!  sorry, this statement is rather rash.  Obviously you haven't heard of prosthetic arms and legs, organ transplants,  wheelchairs, etc.  Indoor plumbing?  What about eye glasses?  What is the misuse of that?!

"Necessity is the mother of invention."

  7. Discoveries, inventions and research & development (R & D) are done to carry ahead the torch of progress in the field of science and technology…

Thousands of years back our forefathers initiated the process of quest from the day they discovered the use of fire for cooking their food … fire was considered as a natural calamity since the inferno used to devastate thousands of acres of forests and human settlements… nevertheless, it became the backbone of human survival… then they discovered cutting tools… wheels… domesticated wild animals… and the thirst to find something new and useful has not yet quenched…

These sciences that were discovered for the benefit of humankind are now used for destruction, wars, crimes and terrorism…

The misuse of resources is initiated out of lust, hatred and sinner’s instincts in humans…

Crimes, child abuse, rapes, murders, terrorism, robberies, avoidable wars between two democracies, mass destruction of living beings etc… are planned and materialised by insane criminals and autocratic and arrogant members of various faiths or lands…

Nevertheless, this is not a valid reason to stop the process of quest for advanced science and technology…

It is better to crush the bad elements rather than holding back the scientists from their pursuit…

As far as the destructive weaponry is concerned… it is not merely possessed for attacking someone… it is equally required to possess them as deterrents against any attack on us…

  8. no,if it improves our lives,i am not for stopping it

  9. Personally, I would find it a bit of a bind having to go back to living naked in caves and picking berries to eat - and relying on animals caught in forest fires to satisfy any urge I may have for cooked meat.

Since mankind first evolved, we have been exploring our planet, and using our brains to make our lives longer and much more comfortable. On the whole, it's been pretty good for us.

Is there any period in time you would wish inventions to have stopped at? Before the nuclear weapon? TNT? The machine gun? Flintlock? Bow and arrow? Spear? Sharp stick?

Progress cannot, nor should not, be stopped - however, you are correct in that it is high time our morals evolved apace with our intellect and we began to behave responsibly.
