Question:

Should human society do away with the concept of royalty?

Whether it is absolute rule or a "formal" role like the British royalty. Obviously the later would be easier to do away with as they don't hold together the government of a kingdom/country, but should we dissolve the archaic tradition of non-elected elites who effect the country's policies?

Is it right to have people in charge who live off of the average people, who weren't chosen to be in that position of power in the first place?

  1. There is no such thing as a "human society".  That sounds like you want to make a standard for all people.  That sounds like a dictatorship to me.  The British Monarchy exists because the people of Britain allow it to exist, and presumably want it.  They have the power to stop it if they wish.  The same with all constitutional monarchies.  Absolute monarchies are the same as a dictatorship, pretty much, and people don't have the control that a democracy has.

That being said, do you want someone to decide who is being ruled inappropriately (in their opinion), and do something about it.  Let me ask you this, do you want more Iraq wars, do you want another Viet Nam war?  Mmmmm??? That it was you are proposing sounds like.

  2. I completely agree, but they say that those most fit for government office are usually bright enough to want to stay away.

  3. Royalists would not have any one to grovel to then. You do not believe that all men are created equal and all that jazz, do you? Only Americans believe that.

  4. I do not agree with the concept of getting rid of our royal family! and the key word is FAMILY, we as a nation look after our royal family, it is our heritage, it is what makes society, family life and we show the world how important family is to us as a nation. God Save The Queen

  5. No reason to.  It would just be replaced with others of high society rank.  People dream, live vicariously.  It's just the way it is.

  6. i say get rid of the sods
