Should hummingbird feeders hang in direct sun as I have found the fluid can get extremely hot?

Never have I seen any mention of should the feeders be hung in the shade or sun.

  1. I have one of my Hummingbird feeder in the shade and one in the sun. If it is in the sun you should change the sugar water more often. When it was really hot here, I filled 2 feeders I would cool one in the fridge till the other one was hot. The one in the fridge I set it out till it wasn't real cold, and then exchanged them.  


  2. If they are hung in direct sunlight..the solution it more likely to go bad or ferment.  It would be best in a shaded or semi-shaded area.

  3. i always hang mine in the shade some because the water will become stagnant much faster  they seem to drink it quicker when it is in the shade
