Question:

Should i be a game designer?

ok i am only 12 but i have a basic idea of what i want to be so if i do become one then i already have the general idea of my game but if i did that would i need to get more than just a gaming degree .....like should i have something on the side of gameing incase gaming doesn't work out for me ????? and if so what should it be i have started to like to read....i love to type and i can type relatively fast and i love doin stuff on the computer so what do u think i should do???

  1. It's better if you went for a more general Computer Science degree than a regular gaming degree, especially if you don't get in places like Digipen or FullSail. Read my source for more details.

    Also, kid, you're 12 - I wanted to be a video game designer at 12, too. ;p

    As the realities of working in the gaming industry set upon you, you may realize that there's other more rewarding industries out there. Keep your options open - I'm glad I did. Make sure to take Computer Science classes in high school as well, and pursue learning programming languages in your spare time.

    Also, typing fast is related to being a court stenographer - they're the ones who record everything people say in court cases. Look into that if you're curious.
