Question:

Should i be concerned that my 2 year old( she turned 2 in april) isent fully talking

I'm not sure how many words she has but at least 75. she can put 2 sometimes 3 words together. but most of what she says is still unclear

  1. She is fine, she is right on track with language skills.  Children are expected on average to have up to 50 words by their 2nd birthday and begin putting 2-3 word phrases together.  Between 2-3 years, their vocabulary will drastically increase and by 3 years should be speaking in complete sentences and strangers can understand what they are saying.  :)


  2. Of course most of what she says is unclear, she is only 2...learn how to listen better.

  3. Not yet, if she gets to 3, THEN be worried.

  4. no cause my son is 2 and a half and just starting to talk i would if he is three and not talking

Children develop at different stages.  I think she sounds perfectly normal.  If you are concerned you can help her by talking to her and reading to her.  Teaching her songs, playing games, etc.  Limit TV, movies or any activity that is not interactive.  Sometimes children will feel frustrated when they can't communicate, specially if the other children are ahead.
