Should i be considered as an international student?

I am not a permanent resident of the US but my application is pending, am I regarded an international student?

  1. Yes, but you should talk to the admissions office at your college or university and inquire whether they have a different process for students whose PR application is pending. Are you in the US? If not, I would probably suggest that you wait until your PR is approved. There are many more benefits for Permanent Residents such as eligibility for financial aid and scholarships.


  2. Yes, absolutely. Pending application means you are neither approved nor denied. So, you still remain your status prior your application and since you don't have a permanent resident status you are considered as an international student.
