  1. No you shouldn't be embarassed, its ok if you do though cuz i know how you feel. So you messed up a little, everyone messes up.... for example my first time to ride with a saddle and I was tacking up and put the blanket on all the way past the horse's rump and it covered half its but and not to mention on backwards.... infront of everyone...... but I was a little embarassed.

  2. Aww dont be embarrsed it was ur first day just ask someone to help you next time if you need it

  3. When it comes to horses the most embarrassing thing to do is to think you know it all.  There is always more to learn. Call it a learning day and be grateful for the experience you are gaining.

  4. no... everyone makes mistakes... and it was your first day.. chill out a little.

  5. No!!! dont be embaressed there is a first time for everything a everybody has to learn somehow.

       good luck..!    ( :

  6. If no one ever told you the right way to do it, you have no reason to be embarrassed. If you were taught and forgot, I guess I'd be embarrassed.

  7. no you should not be. if she was saying it mean then that was stupid of her but i even do those things and i have been riding for 7 years. ( leave lead ropes around, not cleaning the bit. ) stuff like that

  8. You shouldn't be embarassed. Chalk it up to experience. You're still learning. The best way to learn is from your mistakes. It's perfectly alright.

A better question is, "Who hasn't had an experience like that?".  haha.

  9. its so not a big deal at all... I do it all the time and ive been working with horses for all my life.... if horses are bad sometime you sould use a chain lead and put it over there nose so u have more controle. Dont be embarred at all..... Just remember everything you do should be on the left side of the horse.... dont worry about it....

  10. no its ok, you could say that you put it on the side for your horse or a horse that you knew because you used it to "check" them, or rather it gave you more control. Just say it was a bad habit and that you just forgot that this was a different horse. That way it can save you the embarrassment. ;)

  11. I know people who put the lead on the ring where the cross ties go. They do it so the rope doesn't go in to the feed bucket and get in their way while eating.

But chill. It's your first day on the job, things will work out.

  12. mmm yeah... if you have been riding for a year you should at least know how to lead a horse

  13. hahahah...uhhh I think that is one of the most LEAST embarrassing mistakes anyone has ever made. If you heard some of my stories...you would be in tears :)

  14. well you know now.

Don't be embarrassed --= if you never needed to know it before then it's no big deal.

Now I would use the bottom ring for crossties.......

Edit> we don't use crossties in the UK just in case anyone wondered.

  15. Of course not! You made a mistake! We have been switching horses around alot lately and I was doing night chores and we were feeding, so infront of everyone I gave a mare some other horses grain because I had two grain cans in my hand and I thought she was another horse! haha it all worked out in the end she didnt get sick we just had to fix it. =]

  16. I know people who use the side rings all the time.

No biggie.  Save embarrassment for things like ripping the seat of your riding pants out as you throw your leg over the saddle.

  17. no you shouldn't be - i help out at a barn and i've done WAY worse than that.  besides, i always hook it on the bottom ring, but i don't think its that big of deal if you don't:)

  18. actually, every "good" rider knows that you're supposed to do that. just try to remember. you should be embarrassed. if a horse turns, and you don't put it on the  ring, it'll get confusing. and that might spook the horse. p.s. your barn is a bad place. they don't even teach you were the lead rope goes! you should be embarrassed cuz you ride at that barn. also, if i were the leader there, i don't think I'll let you do that. especially if you don't know where the clip goes on a halter. well that's how it is at my stable. grown-ups are very strict, and kinda mean. that's where i learned how to say what i just said. I'm sorry. like, it's not your fault, and the reason i spoke like that^ is because that's how i grew up at my sable.

  19. Yeah id be embarrased thats sort of dumb but SHOULD you be embarrased??  Nope. Everyone makes mistakes.  Even professionals.  Ive been riding since age 3....and one time I put my leg boots on backwards....My poor horse.  I cant believe I did it it was sooo dumb but it was an accident.  I wasnt thinking.  Everyone does stupid things.  lol  Now you've joined the club. :-)

  20. its really not that big of a deal.. you didnt know better and you should thank her for pointing it out so you didnt keep making the mistake. if you only did it a couple times before she pointed it out then im sure nobody else noticed.. its really  nothing to be embarassed about.

  21. wow. I would be.

  22. Mortified!  I never make those mistakes!!! Of course if you believe that I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.  Really cheap too!  LOL!!!

Seriously, you are worrying too much.  No reason at all for embarassment.

  23. Everyone was taught that at some point. You weren't born with the knowledge, so don't worry about it. It's really not that big of a deal.
