  1. whatever doesnt kill you will only make you stronger

meaning if you loose you still go experience from it

  2. Good luck

win lose or draw its experience and nothing beats that

i walked into my first fight with one month experience my opponent had about 5

needless to say i was submitted in the first round but i learned from it and last time we sparred it came down to a time limit ending the match

no matter what happens remember your going to learn, be able to try out all these techniques your doing

and no matter what have fun

you get kicked hard just smile, give him a thumbs up and keep going

  3. I say go for it. The experience will do you good. That is how you learn and develope. Win or lose you come away with more knowlege.

  4. You should be fine.  Odds are it is only point sparring, where the contact and danger will not be that much.  If it were a full-contact match I'd say you are not prepared.

Talk to your teacher about your concerns.

  5. I would wait one more week to fight so u are prepared

  6. Once a week for an hour and a half? in just five weeks? Did you know that some dojos practice for 4 hours a day, 4-5 times a week?

You're not ready. I'm not trying to slander or put you down or something like that, but it's the harsh truth. It doesn't matter if the ones you're going to compete with are at the same level you're in. Remember that some white belt students are almost as good as blue belts (PTA) because they train harder than anybody else (Trust me. I've encountered some of them before). You might encounter those kind of fighters in the event you're going to participate in.

However, you still have 3 weeks to really prepare for your upcoming fight. Try to practice for atleast 4 days a week or more, and spend as many hours as you can.

    Good luck and God bless.

  7. Fighting and sparring are different things. Techniques mean nothing in a fight. In sparring, you have an opportunity to practice the techniques in a controlled environment. It's a heck of a lot different than just throwing kicks and punches against the air or bag, either way. There's a psychological factor involved -- hitting and being hit. You can't know if you're ready until you try.

    Good luck.
