Should i be scared ?

i haven't seen my dad in over 9 years and he is violent... should i be scared of him because he's visiting me this weekend ?

If your dad loves you and cares about you, he probably won't be violent. If he doesn't go to a public place. Maybe a restaurant or something.

Hi, to be on the safe side I would say have someone with you when he comes over to visit you.Hopefully he has got some help and will be a better Dad now than before.Just pray about it,so that God will be there with you for protection. Have a good visit.Good Luck and God Bless You.

well, i would be scared too. but think of it this way, my biological father always said he wanted to see me and that he'd come pick me up but he'd never show up or call back for months. know that your father loves you, and that he does want to see you. -Tristan

Unless he has had counseling and therapy, he will not have changed.  An abuser is always an abuser until treatment is completed.  If you think that he is still violent, make sure that you never are alone with him for any reason, nor for any amount of time.  Keep at least one other reliable person around you so you will have a witness and someone who could get help if it was needed.  I also agree with bopdaddy that you should only meet in public places.

hes your dad and you havnt seen him in years i would be excited to see him even if he is violent you should know that hes your dad and he loves you and wont want to do any thing to hurt you! stop thinking negative and look at the positive side! don't worry and have fun!
