I found a 2001 Mercedes ML320 for sale on cars.com. I contacted the seller via e-mail today, only to find out he's been moving all over the country. On the ad, his residency is in NY, but he emailed me, telling me that he moved to the UK due to a job relocation, and could not use the car there ( due to the high price of registering it.) In the second email, he said he is curently livng in Nevada, and needs the money from the car to pay for his honeymoon. Also, I checked the vehicle history on autocheck.com, and he claims to have about 36,000 mi on it, which is true according to the report, but in that case, the car has been sitting around since 2006. Thanks

  1. Yes. You guessed right.

I think Yes, You are being scammed. Has he asked you yet about wiring the money to his foreign bank account?

Once you do wite the money out of the country, you’ll never get it back.

The site you used to check the car out is probably the same site he got his information from; hence the mileage match.

You should have any vehicle checked out before buying it.

    Good Luck

  2. even if it isnt a scam the guy sounds like a dope anyway, and who wants a car thats been sitting for 2yrs, move on.

  3. Look for another car. If you could meet with him , have the car checked over and it has a clear title ( run vin with the DMV ), maybe . If not , move on and find  legal one.

  4. Sounds like a scam to me, very weary

  5. SCAM!!

  6. There's a lot of scam on ebay and craigslist.com.

Most of it about moving abroad (often because of military.

There are many, many cars.  Just move to another car.

    Good Luck...
