Question:

Should i be worried about my cats fighting?

i have two male cats. they are the same age, and i got them from an add in the paper about 6-7 months ago. they were said to be from the same litter, however one is a silver tabby and the other is black so who knows. they seem to get along great. they clean each other, eat together, have no problem using the same litter box (although i do provide two) and play together all the time.

HOWEVER

when they fight, boy do they fight. growling, biting, swatting, chasing. it's an all out brawl. they never seem to hurt each other, and hopefully it's just the result of them being young male cats that like to be agressive every now and then, but i worry that someday it could go to far.

is this something i should worry about?

also-they have both been neutered for a while.

  1. I would keep an eye on them. usually it means they need more exercise if they r fighting for no reason. Or it might be that they r just playing around. Just keep an eye on them.

  2. Seems to me that they're just playing if they never really hurt each other. They could be fighting over dominance (I'm no cat expert), but never separate them after they fight, they need to learn to live together.

    Good Luck!

  3. Don't worry, cats like to play, and your cats are still the equivalent of children. They'll probably stop in a few months. But if it does get too rough, such as a cat crying out, don't hesitate to pull them apart.

  4. NO NO NO ITS NOT A PROBLEM! WE HUMANS NEED TO UNDERSTAND HOW CATS PLAY! IT LOOKS LIKE FIGHT BUT IT REALLY PLAY! MY FEMALES  CATS ALWAYS  PLAY FIGHT! BUT MY 3 MALE CATS FIGHTS SERIOUS LIKE BIG MEN! WE ALL CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REAL FIGHT AND PLAY FIGHT! AS LONG YOUR KITTENS GET ALONG MOST OF THE TIME THEN ITS CALL PLAY! SERIOUSLY HATRED FIGHT IS WHEN CATS DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO EACH OTHER! AFRAID TO EAT TOGETHER,WALKS SLOWLY TOWARDS EACH OTHER AND HISS! ETC. YOUR CATS IS JUST PLAYING SO DON'T WORRY! WORRY WHEN THEY GET BIGGER AND WANT TO BE BOSS AND MARK THEIR TERITORY! LOL.

"IT WAS A PLEASURE TO HELP!" GOOD LUCK!

  5. this is something you should not worry about i have 4 male cats and like you said they fight!! that is part of there nature that's how they play and communicate with one another if you see that they are getting way too aggressive take them out side or spray them with a water bottle that what i do and if works all the time.

  6. cats play rough. it is a cross between roman gladiators and professional wrestling.

it is how they exercise, practice fighting and hunting, and decide who will be in charge.

as long they do not draw blood, it is just play.
