Question:

Should i be worried about my man b***s?

I am 12 years old and 5 foot 8 and weigh 123 pounds. I started to get small man b***s when i was 8 or 9 and i want to get rid of them. And i mostly eat really healthy but it is hard because my mom says that she does not want me to get lower then 125 pounds. In the last 2 months i have lost about 14 pounds, but i still have man b***s. SO what should i do? Also Will i lose them during puberty? What foods will help it? And what should i stay away from? (Carbs, Sodium, Sugar?) PLEASE HELP ME!

  1. Most guys have mand b***s. No men are completely flat chested so dont worry. I'm a CNA in a nursing home, you could be much worse!

You are rather overweight my friend.  At 12 years of age you should be merely around 95 lbs.  Do not listen to your mom when she tells you a 12 year old should be 125 pounds, that is incorrect by a long shot.  Don't worry, you aren't that bad,  just eat more fruits and veggies.  Don't go into the kitchen unless you are really hungry.  If you are, make a salad or eat an apple, banana, etc.  Have fun making healthy meals instead of just pulling out a gross ice-cream bar from the freezer.  Those things don't make you feel good about yourself.  Play outside and exercise,  just sitting outside is good for you.  Good luck man and remember, you aren't fat.  It is easily possible to lose this weight,  you are doing this for yourself and nobody else!

  3. Please listen carefully...As I sit here typing your answer, I am in the  

    waiting lobby waiting for my 15yr. old son to get out of surgery. We

    thought that judging by his appearance, he just had a small case of

    "man b***s". We were wrong. His body, for reasons unknown, started

    to grow breast tissue. We made an appointment with his doctor to

    have the situation looked at, and got a professional medical opinion.

    It turns out my son didn't have "man b***s". He was a teenage boy

    with "B" cup size b*****s. His doctor referred us to a plastic

    surgeon, and the procedure for a double mastectomy was approved by

    our insurance. It doesn't matter what you eat or don't eat...If its in

    your genetic make-up to develope breast tissue, nothing you do is  

    going to change that. I highly recommend that you see your doctor or

    a plastic surgeon. If for anything, at least you'll have piece of mind.

  4. Well, yeah you want to et rid of them Just eat right and exercise and they will probably go away when you go through puberty and ur pex start to fill out more.

  5. god people are so uninformed.... it's called Gynecomastia and at your age you shouldn't worry about it. Most of it happens during puberty, some of it is caused by genetics, some cases they don't know why, others are hormonal imbalance. Diet and excercise usually doesn't get rid of them, at 125 lbs, you're not exactly fat. Some 'man b***s' will have gland in them and some are just fat.  If it's fat the liposuction will get rid of it usually with no scarring. If there is a gland then it has to be sucked out. However I don't think most doctors would do surgery on you because you are so young, that sometimes these 'moobs' disappear over your teen years. Excercise doesn't hurt and sometimes can make them look worse as your  pectoral get bigger, thus increasing the size of them. It's embarassing, but things could change

  6. Believe it or not, I was in the same exact shoes. The hormones they use for dairy and meat, that you consume, result in estrogen development in men. This causes breast development. Gynecomastia is what youre talking about and no, you probally dont have it unless they are huge. I wouldnt worry about it as you age and develop your body always corrects itself. 9 times outa 10.

  7. Run more.  Don't worry too much.  Exercise is more important than diet.

    Also, you say "it is hard to lose weiit because my mom said i couldn't".

    That makes no sense.  your mom is not stopping you from losing weight!  

    EDIT: And for the guy who said that twelve year olds should be only 95 lbs... that is for the 5'0 12 year olds, not people who are 5'8.  Heck, I was 105 lbs in 4th grade!

  8. you need to go to the doc maybe your hormal productivity is unbalanced. Plus your still young you can loose them when you hit puberty.

  10. start working out...carry wieghts and make sure you do atleast an hour an half of excercise

    your wieght and height is fine

  11. If it isnt Gynomastia, then you are ok for the time being. That means that its just fat under there, and not actually breast tissue (which means it can only go away with surgery). It is very important that you get as much exercise as you can every day, dont be afraid to do some sit ups/push ups/pull ups, but dont start doing things like heavy weights and benchpresses. Most importantly, enjoy the exercise you do. . . if you like swimming, try to make it a point to swim every day (or biking, or rollerblading, whatever you enjoy). Once you hit puberty, all this exercise will help you develop muscles, and you will lose fat pretty quickly which will still result in you gaining weight (but its muscle, so its a GOOD thing). Just try to avoid eating out all the time with your friends, if you can cut back on pop (if you can bear the taste of diet pepsi/coke etc, then feel free to enjoy those) and sugary drinks (stay AWAY from sports drinks, unless you are actually doing physical activity those are killer), you should be good :)  

  12. most guys that have man b***s need surgery to get rid of them. i just watched this on discovery health channel. it was about a boy your age. i wish i could remember the name of it but i don't. look it up on discoveryhealth .

  13. Do alot of push-ups, and if you have a weight bench, then do some bench presses.

  14. you can work out your chest muscles with special toning techniques. go to the gym or ask a trainer what moves you should try.

    ur sooo tall, i guess ur not overweight, cuz ur tall, even though ur only 12...

  16. I'm a 21 year old girl,  I'm 5" and i'm 115 lbs. I think you must be skinny if you are only 123lbs. I don't think you need to lose weight! And I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure it will go away once you get a little older........maybe try doing "butterfly" exercises. That will target your chest,

    try working out ur upper body like lifting or push ups alot of push ups so u can have muscles and ur man b***s will probably go away
