Should i become an animal attendent? anyone here an animal attendent?

im in a bit of a pickle.. im not sure whether or not to become one.

i love animals and im willing to assist in feeding, cleaning, grooming, caring etc. but im not sure yet. im 16 and looking into future careers.

i guess im just wondering if you would reconmend this as a possible career choice for me. if you are an animal attendent is it good pay etc? cheers =)

oh im in australia if that makes any difference.

  1. Well the best way to see if that is the career choice for you is to do some volunteer work.

    I am a wildlife carer at a shelter in WA. Most places have a good choice of shifts to do, (weekdays/weekends). If you are still at school you can get your school to organise it and do some shift during school hours.

    You should find on the internet volunteer website's set up by the government that lists places looking for volunteers in your state.

    Or you can look in the phone directory for places near you.

    Remember if you do get to volunteer somewhere to ask for a reference because that will help future job prospects.

    If you can stomach feeding/cleaning/picking up after sick animals and such.

    I'm looking into doing it myself. =]
