now i was thinking about breeding leopard geckos but i heard they can lay like up to 20 eggs a year. and im not sure what i would do with them all. i was thinking about giving them away to friends and family if i had like 2 or 3 eggs but i only have 1 cage with one leopard gecko and if i got another 1 (opposite gender) and she had 20 eggs 1 season i dont know what i would do and then the season after that, and after that, and after that.. but i would be able to properly care for the eggs if i did get eggs. and i might want to keep 1 for my self but i only have 1 cage and...some1 please help who is experienced in breeding them.

  1. dont  breed unless you a profesinal

  2. Wll the 1st person is a complete idiot cause no 1 can be a pro unless they try.Go to the site www.leopardgeckowiki.com ,it has everything you need to know related to leos.

You could get a peice of plastic to divide the tank in 2 to stop them from breeding once youre done, and if your leo lays eggs and you get a sign flying at you saying congrats, thenyou need a heatmat, vermiculite(found in plant areas at your localhardware store),a plastic box/tub used to carry sandwiches etc. and a little thermometer.

Go to youtube and type in leopard gecko incubator and find a clip from oogiereptiles where he teaches you how to make an incubator.

    Hope i helped,bye

  3. I'd recommend keeping the pair in separate vivs, putting them together to do their thing then separating them. This reduces their stress and means you have more control over how many clutches you'll end up with. Also ask your local pet shops if they would be willing to buy the babies.

  4. You can buy rubbermaid containers and keep them housed in there. Females lay 10 clutches of eggs, 2 eggs per clutch. You could house all the babies together once they hatch and keep them in a small 16 quart rubbermaid container heated with a small heat pad/heat tape.

Please Keep in mind you will need to give them lots of care and time. Email me so i can help you with breeding your leos. It may be to late to breed this year though.
