I was going to take a trip to Europe in the fall and was trying to decide whether or not to bring my laptop along with me. I would be using it to book hotels/hostels for the upcoming stops. It is an older laptop and probably weighs 15 pounds. Would I have any problems using a laptop from the states in Europe and getting free internet, or would it just be easier to use internet cafes?

  1. 1. You must check, whether your laptop has a voltage switch from 110 to 230 volts, since all European countries have 230 volt system. Otherwise you will need an additional voltage converter from 110 to 230 volts.

    2. Check with your airline on weight limitation. Paying overweight fare may be more expensive than using internet cafes abroad.

    3. Most hotels/hostels will help you with booking for upcoming stops.

  2. yeah, i'd do it.

  3. yes, great idea

  4. When your laptop has wireless lan then it will be no problem as there are many internet cafes or hotspots you can use your laptop for free. You also can book hotels with internet access...sometimes for free sometimes you have to pay for it.

  5. It is more practical to take your lap top with you.Internet cafes in Europe are expensive.Just make sure that the hotels you are staying at provide free Internet access.

  6. d**n 15 pounds

how will you connect to internet

do you have a wireless plan for it?

hmm and you have to charge it

  7. Umm, if you're staying in hotels and hostels chances are that they won't have internet unless you're staying in upscale expensive places.  You'll probably wind up going to an internet cafe anyway - save yourself 15 pounds of luggage!
