so far i have

a body-everything except a pick up

a pick up

a neck-with truss rod already in and fret board only thing is no head shape (but i wanna do that my self)

a overlay

a nut

and i think thats all im going to need

besides paint

what do you guys think

am i getting in over my head for my first build-your-own guitar

or is it pretty do-able well plz let me know!

  1. Try it - it sounds like one heck of a project.

If/when the going gets tough, just imagine yourself playing it and showing it off.

  2. An electric?  Knock yourself out!

Just be aware that bridge placement and string height,

(neck angle), are likely to be critical.

Get those right and all the rest is just show.

  3. Try it yourself and video record it. Then stick it on youtube as a tutorial. If you fail, people will know what not to do. And maybe some viewer will feel sorry for you and give you one of his guitars for trying your best!

  4. You will never know until you try it.

If worse comes to worse, you will have at least tried, and learned a lot. We learn more from Mistakes, than anything else.

Gee, maybe that why I know so much, lol

Anyway, good luck, if it doesn't work, you can always buy one.
