Should i buy 03 chevy cavalier for 4k with 116k miles or 96 honda civic for 4k with 150+ miles?

should i buy 03 chevy/ford-- cavalier/malibu/focus for 4k with 90+ miles

or

96 honda/toyota-- civic/accord/corolla/camry for 4k with 150+ miles

i need 25+ mpg

i will need this car for atleast 5yrs

i will do regular tune ups

While the Honda/Toyota has more miles, they tend to be more reliable.  Cavaliers are some of the worst small cars out there.  Just have the honda/toyota checked out to make sure there are no serious issues (especially look at the front end suspension, CV joints/boots).  I have a friend who put 280k miles on her corolla with no major issues in its lifetime.  She sold it to a friend and it is still going.
