  1. If your not hardcore racing, go for the 4 stroke.

  2. A 250 is a lot bigger than a 125. Oh I, just noticed that the 250 is a 4 and the 125 is a 2.. I would definitely get the 4 stroke 250. You won't grow out of it and 2 strokes are a pain in the a*s.

  3. If you are not a good rider then get a 4 stroke i would get the 125 2 stroke they are are better then 4 stroke and sound louder and if you think you are going to out grow it just Jake up the shocks and if you want it to go faster put some power bands on it.

  4. 250fs are nice but they need alot of maintaing to keep it runing but they also got alot more power 125s are easy to maintain and cheap to fix if they ever breck down but they dont have as much power as a 250f

  5. What it really comes down to, is how much do you want to work on your bike?  The new 4-stroke motors will give you a lot more time riding between tune-ups.  They are making tons of torque and horsepower.  And, are going to be the only things legal to sell by manufacturers in 2008.  Because of the emissions laws passed by California.  So, get yourself a 4-stroke, and save yourself a ton of headaches.

  6. i think that you should get a 4 stroke because their really good on trials and stuff like that and if that's what your going to be doing most of the time then its better.

  7. Get the 125. Cheaper parts. 4 strokes are for quads.  The only reason mx guys ride 4 strokes is because they have to. 2 strokes are being phased out because of the tree huggers.  Nothing like the powerband on a 2 stroke.  one more thing, they are lighter and easier to manuever in the air.

  8. Since you don't plan on racing, go for the four stroke, since most places do not allow two stroke machines anymore. Two stroke motors use oil and gas in the same tank, that causes more pollution, while four stroke engines don't..

  9. get the 250 4 stroke. i have a 125 4 stroke.

  10. 4 strokes are faster. you say you don't care about sound nut the 4 stroke sounds meaner too. only you have to mix your gas you know. i would ride both tho. which one are you more comfortable on? which one looks nicer/better/newer to you if you care about that kind of stuff.

  11. 4 stroke ups: less maintance, no mixing gas, way more bottom end power for rutted trails you don't have to wind it out and feather the clutch, you can just let the clutch all the way out and give it a little gas where as two stroke you have to wind it out and feather the clutch, also on hill climbs, if you slow down or stop and start going again, a 4 stroke will put power on the ground smoother whereas a 2 stroke might break traction if you aren't paying attention to your clutch.  also, the build 4 strokes right now that compete very well with two strokes but anyone who rides 2 strokes will tell you this:

you will get used to all the clutching and high rpms, nothing can replace the way a 2 stroke takes off, they are lighter, they do more with way less cc.  if you hit the throttle for one second, like brup.  the bike will shoot forward.  a 2 stroke is very sensitive to everything you do.

tough desision considering all the badass bikes out there.  get one of both
